 The
establishment, recently, of this center is the most historic event in the
50-year evolution of the department. The center was setup with a one-crore
rupees donation from one of the most illustrious alumni of the department
Mr. K.B.Chandrasekhar, Chairman and co-founder of Exodus communications,
USA, which is the home for over 30% of the worlds internet traffic. The
center was setup with a mandate of undertaking frontline and nationally
relevant research on Internet and related technologies. The center is now
fully operational.
