1. Sol-gel process was done on UV cured cycloliphatic epoxy resins modified by reactive diluent(hexane diol diglycidyl ether), coupling agent(glycidoxypropyl trimethoxy silane) and poly dimethyl siloxane terminated by epoxy groups.  The cured films were swollen in TMOS and hydrolysed by water vapour at elevated temperatures-their thermal characteristics were studied and SEM photographs were analysed.  The films obtained were porous and contained micro and nano sized domains of silica  and had surfaces similar to those of ceramics.
