  The
faculty in the department are involved in carrying out academic as well
as sponsored research in areas which can be broadly categorized as communications,
Signal Processing, (Image, speech and Radar), Telecom, VLSI, Networking,
Parellel Processing, Embedded system design etc. Some of the specific topics
on which academic research is currently being carried out are parallel
processing, Kalman tracking, Fractal image processing, Wavelet Transforms,
spread spectrum communications, Power Line communication, ATM Networking,
Fault Tolerant Computing etc.
