Rotaract Club of Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University is a student organization, involved in the activities that make the student community to be dedicated for the society, by making them attain the twin disciplines of personal mastery and self responsibility.
Once in two months orphanage visits will be there in and around Chennai. We will be engaged in making the day joyful to those children by narrating exhilarating stories, playing games and a lot more. We will provide lunch to those children. As Engineering students, we will also create some general awareness among the children about the latest technical developments by demos shown in the laptop. On 25th July we have arranged a orphanage visit to “Bala Gurukulam” . Every day blind reading is being conducted in MIT campus. Many volunteers used to read for blind people. Conversion of books into audio cd’s wil also be done by the volunteers. Medical camp will be conducted in any one of the orphanage during the month of September. We will provide the medicines prescribed by the doctors at free of cost to those orphanage children. A Literary event for physically challenged students will be conducted at the month of October. Several events such as painting competitions, poem recitations, music competitions etc will be conducted. "Sparish", a function for dependent children, with a motive of bringing up their self confidence. This wil be held on the new year eve. Several sports events will be conducted for them. We will provide a grand dinner for those children at the end of this function. Every year trekking will be arranged to Pallavaram hills, near Chrompet, for first year students during the month of February.Many events will be conducted for them. Finally, Ms.Trekking and Mr.Trekking will be selected. A magazine named "Rotoplus" will be published by our club. The magazine contains articles written by young children in order to bring out their hidden talents. More than a 1000 copies will be published and distributed in the orphange and the college. A career guidance program will be organized for the higher secondary school children from the rural background at free of cost.
