         On October 16 2008 a blood donation camp was successfully conducted during which 65 units of blood was contributed.

  1. As a part of year’s activity in 2008-2009 a district level study camp sponsored by Indian Red Cross (IRC)    was hosted in MIT campus. Students from around seven colleges had participated.

         2.In the academic year 2009-2010 the district level study camp was conducted by YRC wing of MIT.

  3.The inauguration of YRC for academic year 2009-2010 witnessed the initiation of EXNORA club activity. With the help of EXNORA, YRC is planning to collect all decomposable vegetable matters and make a compost to manure the trees around the campus.

         4.YRC day ( February 15th ) is celebrated annually by creating awareness through quiz, elocution, painting and other competitions.

        Few deeds of YRC unit are

 

      1.Conducting First Aid classes and a test to  check their proficiency

  2. Demonstrations of First Aid activities

      3.Blood donation camp

  4. Students visiting hospitals regularly for donating blood

      5.Campus cleaning

  6.Road safety awareness program.

      7.Civil rights awareness classes

  8. Disaster management sessions

  9. To understand the world of the physically challenged people,

          sign language classes are conducted

      10.Featuring documentaries on social issues during class room activities

  11. Health awareness programme

  12. Eye care seminar

          13.Stress management session

       Apart from these activities YRC units parallely help others in reading to the visually challenged people to prepare for the competitive exams and the unparalleled pleasure in reaching the needy is realized.

     “Helping hands are greater than praying lips”, said Mother Theresa. Words of tender love and affection can heal the poignant nostalgia of old aged people in homes and orphanage children. So YRC units during and academic year makes visits to orphanages and old age homes. Fuelling the flammable minds is a priceless thought. Students of YRC visit a nearby orphanage daily to tutor the public exam appearing students.

     Campus activities are regularly organized by YRC to create an others-centered society.

 

         Powerful thoughts and humble souls aim to have a peace and self supporting mass perennially. Day by day, year by year the YRC in MIT blooms with the fragrance of pragmatic ideas and deeds during the need of the hour.

          “Everyone can make a change” as every drop in the mighty ocean matters. YRC in MIT will strive for this motto forever.
