HISTORY:

In the academic year 1984-85, five students conceived the idea to start an association to improve the overall personality of the MITians. Thus was born the Personality Development Association. The association was formally inaugurated on 4th of February, 1985; with the active support of Prof. K.V. Narayanan and Dr.S.Renganathan. From a modest beginning then, we carry on legacy. Personality - Complexity of all the attributes - the behavioral, the temperamental, the emotional and the mental - that characterize a unique individual. it is with these things in mind, and lots of passion towards what we do, we are trying to help students of MIT to mould their personality.

DESCRIPTION:

Personality Development Association (PDA) is an interdisciplinary Forum in MIT. It provides platform to the students who aspire to be different in the society by discovering themselves. The association aims to develop individual skills of students and make them face the global competitive environment. Focused on developing soft skills and make students prepare for their placements by providing training on Aptitude, Psychometric, resume building, Group Discussion, Mock Interview, Stress Interview, HR Interview and conducting competitions on the same for interactive participation. Weekly practice sessions on the areas of aptitude and coding, regular practice tests to test their knowledge on the same are being conducted. Encouraging students to display and level up their communication skills through competitions like debate, shipwreck, JAM and campaigning competition. Organizing career guidance sessions regarding higher studies, job impurities abroad with MIT Alumni and other eminent personalities. Maintaining a student run library in MIT Hostels with variety of books to prepare for civil service examination, GATE, TOEFL, IELTS, GRE for encouraging students to spend their time in reading inside hostel premises.

BENEFICIARIES:

First year and second year students would develop an insight on placements, eventually third years and final years would use the opportunities to level up them-selves on their placement performance.
